Tips for managing stress as a parent
In the last post we talked about how the stress you are feeling as a parent can sometimes affect your kids. Check out these tips below to assist with staying calm with your children.
- Plan ahead to problem solve – time pressure can greatly increase the feeling of stress. Discuss plans with your kids ahead of time to manage expectations
- Get out of your comfort zone and give yourself grace – being uncomfortable when experiencing new situations as a parent can be distressing. Try to change your thoughts to that of this can be a growing experience
- Don’t isolate – touch base with a friend or family member to help feel connected as a parent.
