Tips for managing stress as a parent


In the last post we talked about how the stress you are feeling as a parent can sometimes affect your kids. Check out these tips below to assist with staying calm with your children.

  1. Plan ahead to problem solve – time pressure can greatly increase the feeling of stress. Discuss plans with your kids ahead of time to manage expectations 
  2. Get out of your comfort zone and give yourself grace – being uncomfortable when experiencing new situations as a parent can be distressing. Try to change your thoughts to that of this can be a growing experience
  3. Don’t isolate – touch base with a friend or family member to help feel connected as a parent.
