The signs of Burnout

Signs of Burnout


Most of us have heard someone say to us, “Don’t burn yourself out.” However, do we always listen and take into consideration that advice? Or does it go over our heads as we rush to complete the next task or attend the next event? See below for a couple signs of burnout:


  • Headaches
  • Feeling negative or overly critical 
  • Unexplained exhaustion
  • Irritable
  • Becoming physically ill
  • Insomnia change in sleep patterns
  • Endless anxiety 
  • Feeling inadequate and or hopeless 
  • Neglect of self care 
  • Feeling numb or apathetic about life 


If one of the signs above (or a couple) describes what you are feeling or experiencing now it might be time to pay attention to it. There are no benefits to burnout and your body is trying to tell you something with these symptoms. Maybe this time you try listening to them and see how your body reacts.
