How anxiety symptoms show up in the body
Do you ever feel like you’re constantly worrying? Do small decisions seem unmanageable? Are you able to focus on the task at hand? If this sounds like you, you’re not alone.
We all have many thoughts running through our brain everyday and these thoughts aren’t the problem. However, it’s how we use our mind to manage these thoughts that can be the issue. Anxiety can be connected to this and has many physical and somatic symptoms. Physical symptoms include heart palpitations and churning of the stomach. Somatic symptoms include: constantly worrying, striving for perfection, struggling to make a decision and the need to control.
According to Robert Taibbi, L.C.S. W., there are a couple tools you can utilize to calm your mind so anxiety doesn’t run the show (or your life). These strategies are awareness and getting to your gut.
